Lee Kyu Hyung Takes Position of WTEF’s Honorary President
April 18, the 9th Dan Grand Master Lee Kyu Hyung, the Kukkiwon’s former Dean, has formally taken the position of the honorary President the World Taekwondo Education Federation（WTEF）, as President Zhen Weili presented letter of appointment and expressed deep respect to him for him to take this position.
President Zhen Weili said, after retirement Kukkiwon’s former Dean Grand Master Lee Kyu Hyung could take the position of the WTEF’s honorary President, which is highly positive and biggest supporting to what we have done in Taekwondo promotion. As a 9th Dan grand master, Lee Kyu Hyung has been worthy of the name into sacred land in terms of both martial art skills and Taekwondo theory culture. All the time what he has contributed to Taekwondo has all interpreted Taekwondo spirit. We believe under the direction of Grand Master Lee Kyu Hyung the taekwondo promotion of WTEF will certainly set sail to a new height.
Grand Master Lee Kyu Hyung said, President Zhen Weili’s establishment of the WTEF and his educational idea of “Friendly cooperation & common progress, Benefit & share, Wholeheartedly popularize Taekwondo Education services have played very important role in Taekwondo’s popularization and inheritance in the World. Meanwhile, he fully affirmed the philosophy on President Zhen Weili’s “Chinese-Style Taekwondo Education”. And he highly evaluated Zhen Weili’s published books, 《TKD with love——Chinese-Style Taekwondo Education’s practice & exploration（ 1）》,《Take-off》,《MA school logbook》 etc.
Master Lee Kyu Hyung says, as a worldwide Taekwondo Education promotion organization, the WTEF has carried forward and developed Taekwondo spirit, strived for the development of industry in trouble and for the welfare of all colleagues as well. With fearless spirit and ideal of breaking cocoon into a butterfly, it has practiced its“Chinese-Style Taekwondo Education idea”. It never forgets its mission and oath as a Taekwondo preacher. I believe that, under the leadership of President Zhen Weili, WTEF’s goal to serve the people of all over the world has become closer and closer.
Afterwards, Grand Master Lee Kyu Hyung with his group was accompanied by President Zhen Weili to visit Tangshan Museum. When the narrator introduced to him the development history of Tangshan and the 1976 Tangshan earthquake, the grand master sighed with emotion very much. He said, now in China when Taekwondo’s prospect is not clear enough, the WTEF, like the city of Tangshan which used to suffer too much, but has stood up again, has been doing the best for taekwondo with Taekwondo people’s perseverance faith and the courage of breaking spine. I see you are really excellent and want to have more taekwondo leaders like Zhen Weili to push Taekwondo forward. Also I hope to often have the opportunities to come to WTEF in the future, often to visit China Canglong as well.
